Fall Protection Anchorage

Anchor Points Are the Foundation of a Fall Protection System

A fall-protection anchor provides the secure connection point used by the worker's personal fall-arrest or restraint system. The anchor must be suitable for the structure, work method, connected equipment, worker movement, and the exact manufacturer's approved use.

Build the complete system with safety harnesses, fall protection lanyards, or self-retracting lifelines, and return to fall protection equipment for the full work-at-height category.

Anchor Selection

Choose Anchor Connectors by Structure & Application

Keyline Safety's current anchorage assortment includes concrete anchors, D-ring anchors, web and cable tie-off adapters, beam clamps and trolleys, removable and temporary anchors, slings, roof anchors, mast and rail systems, and other structural anchorage solutions.

Choose the anchor around the supporting structure, installation method, required mobility, connector type, number of users, intended fall-arrest or restraint application, clearance, swing-fall potential, environmental exposure, and manufacturer instructions.

Permanent vs. Temporary Anchorage

Temporary, Portable & Fixed Anchorage Systems

Some work sites need a temporary anchor that can be installed, removed, or repositioned, while others use fixed or engineered anchorage systems. Current Keyline products include portable tie-off adapters and removable anchors as well as larger 3M DBI-SALA FlexiGuard mast, A-frame, C-frame, and rail-based systems.

The correct solution depends on the structure and work method. Do not treat temporary anchors, permanent anchors, mobile systems, and engineered overhead systems as interchangeable; verify installation, structural requirements, user capacity, and approved connection methods.

System Integration

Anchorage for Lifelines, SRLs & Rescue Systems

Anchorage can support more than a single lanyard connection. Depending on the designed system, anchor points may be used with horizontal and vertical lifelines, self-retracting lifelines, or confined space rescue and descent equipment.

When anchorage forms part of a lifeline or rescue system, the complete configuration—including brackets, bases, masts, davits, connectors, retrieval devices, and rescue procedures—must be checked for compatibility.

Business & Project Orders

Need Anchor Points for a Crew, Facility or Project?

Keyline Safety can support anchorage orders for construction, utilities, industrial facilities, maintenance teams, roof work, steel erection, fixed-access systems, confined-space programs, infrastructure, and other work-at-height applications.

For a quote, provide the structure or substrate, work task, number of users, anchor location, connected harness/lanyard/SRL or lifeline system, required mobility, preferred brands, and any engineered or site-specific requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right fall protection anchor point?

Choose the anchor around the supporting structure, work-at-height task, number of users, connected equipment, required mobility, installation method, clearance, swing-fall potential, environmental conditions, and the exact manufacturer's approved use.

Review Fall Protection Equipment when planning the complete system.

What types of structures can fall protection anchors attach to?

Anchor products are available for different structures and substrates, including concrete, structural steel, beams, roofs, and engineered support systems. The exact anchor must be approved for the specific structure and installation method; do not substitute one anchor type for another without confirming the manufacturer's requirements.

What is the difference between temporary and permanent anchor points?

Temporary or removable anchors are intended for applications where the anchorage is installed for a task or project and later removed or repositioned. Permanent or fixed anchors remain installed as part of the facility or structure. Inspection, installation, structural requirements, user capacity, and approved connection methods vary by product.

What is a tie-off adapter or anchor sling?

A tie-off adapter or anchor sling is an anchorage connector designed to create a compatible connection point around or to an approved structural member. Current Keyline products include web and cable tie-off adapters and anchor slings. Confirm the structure, wrap or connection method, length, hardware, capacity, and manufacturer instructions for the exact product.

Does Keyline Safety carry beam clamps and concrete anchors?

Yes. The current anchor collection includes beam clamps and beam trolleys, concrete D-ring and detent anchors, removable concrete or steel anchors, swivel D-rings, and related anchorage hardware from brands including 3M DBI-SALA and Dynamic.

Can the same anchor be used with lanyards, SRLs and lifelines?

Do not assume one anchor is approved for every connecting device or system. The anchor must be compatible with the exact lanyard, SRL, lifeline, connector, user capacity, loading direction, and application specified by the manufacturer or engineered system.

See Fall Protection Lanyards, Self-Retracting Lifelines, and Horizontal & Vertical Lifelines for related components.

Do fall protection anchors need to be inspected?

Yes. Anchors and anchorage connectors should be inspected according to the manufacturer instructions, workplace fall-protection program, installation requirements, and applicable regulations. Check hardware, deformation, wear, corrosion, fasteners, welds or attachment points, labels, moving parts, and any model-specific rejection criteria.

What standards should Canadian workplaces check for fall protection anchors?

Anchorage requirements depend on the product, system design, jurisdiction, and intended use. Many fall-protection products reference applicable CSA Z259-series requirements, but the exact standard and certification are product-specific. Confirm manufacturer documentation, engineered requirements, workplace procedures, and provincial or territorial occupational health and safety rules.

What anchor-point brands does Keyline Safety carry?

Current Keyline product data includes 3M DBI-SALA anchorage connectors and FlexiGuard systems, Dynamic anchorage connectors, beam clamps, slings and concrete anchors, plus Tractel fall-protection anchorage products.

Browse 3M, Dynamic, and Tractel for related equipment.

Can Keyline Safety help with larger anchorage projects?

Yes. Keyline Safety can support crew, facility, and project orders. Share the structure, work area, number of users, required anchor locations, connected fall-protection equipment, preferred brands, mobility needs, installation context, and any engineered or site-specific requirements when requesting a quote.

Shop fall protection anchor points in Canada for construction, utilities, industrial maintenance, roof work, steel structures, confined-space systems, and other working-at-height applications. Compare concrete anchors, D-ring anchors, beam clamps, tie-off adapters, anchor slings, removable anchors, roof anchors, mobile and overhead anchorage systems.
