Safety helmets and hard hats should be selected around the workplace hazard, required impact protection, electrical exposure, brim style, suspension, retention system and compatibility with other PPE.

Product names such as Type I, Type II, Class E, Class G or Class C describe specific design or electrical characteristics under the applicable standard. Verify the exact marking and certification on the selected helmet rather than assuming all hard hats provide the same protection.
